Homicide detectives have launched investigations into two more killings in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, which have brought to 17 the number of people slain in the country this year.

Police said they are investigating the death of Lenny John, 58, of Paul’s Avenue, who died of a stab wound to the chest.

A press statement said that John was stabbed on May 22, allegedly during an altercation.

He was admitted to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital where he “succumbed to the severity of his injury”.

Meanwhile, police have opened a homicide investigation after an autopsy concluded that Ronaltho Bute, 48, died of blunt force trauma to the head.

“In light of these findings, the RSVGPF has elevated the case to a homicide investigation,” police said in a press statement.

Bute’s decomposing body was found at his home in Walker Piece, New Montrose on April 30,

The body was found by the owner of the home who was conducting a routine inspection of the property. The homeowner had noticed a foul odour, leading to the discovery of the body.
