Whether on a ship or on land, a bartender is a bartender!

Same skills. Same customer service. Same hustle. Same long hours. Same backbone of the hospitality industry.

People need to stop acting like the location changes the value of the job.

So why is bartending even offered at TVET?

Why send people to Sandals and other hotels to train in bartending, only to turn around and act like it’s not a real profession?

News flash: Bartenders are making more money than some of the folks sitting in government offices. Yes, the same ones in chairs that are either too big for them, or the ones who look too big for the chairs, because they’re unqualified for the job.

Yes, I’m talking about the ones employed only because they voted ULP.

Growing up, I thought I had to work hard in school, study, get good grades…

Only to realise: it’s not about that. Apparently, all you need to do is VOTE ULP to sit in an office; lost, lazy, and collecting a salary.

It’s giving disrespect. It’s giving discrimination. And it’s time we call it what it is!

Hospitality workers — bartenders, servers, housekeepers, and chefs — are the backbone of the tourism industry, some of the biggest income earners in the world.

MR. PRIME MINISTER, COME TO THE FRONT…

Hold your ears. Cruise ships offer more to bartenders than what you agree to allow foreign investors to pay us, Vincentians, here at home!

Stop pretending these jobs are less valuable just because Harry had the courage to highlight the deplorable state St. Vincent is in.

MR. PRIME MINISTER, I find it rather strange you were so quick to speak out against Harry, trying to discredit his truth.

Your method of gaslighting and trying to make it seem like Harry’s not credible is not working.

BOOOOOOOO…  Sad to say, YOU’RE TRIED!!!

We’re not blind. We’re not stupid. And we’re not afraid anymore.

The people are waking up and your days of disrespecting Vincentians are numbered.

Yours truly,

A Vincentian who is sick of the ill-treatment at the hands of YOU, Mr. Prime Minister.

  2. I keep saying this the pm thinks it’s ok to talk to Vincentians how he pleases. He thinks he can speak about us to others how he wants. He thinks he is entitled to this country al because he spending our tax money to do infrastructural work. I took thought I had to study hard to make it in SVG, only to find out all I had to do is dress in red kiss the pm behind and stay loyal to their wicked way of life. SVG has grown to accept corruption because it’s what the ulp teaches and practices. Corruption is not the way of life in SVG if you want to survive. I am sick of it how can we as a people live this way?

A drowning man will clutch at a staw ..Mr PM you’re starting to clutch or declutch ,like what’s happening at the new port.A true example of a dictator. Tell the people you and you alone could get them out of poverty and the people believe..hope you’re put in our history books as an example of a leader we don’t ever want as a nation again. The physical infrastructures you’ve built can’t compensate vincies for the mental abuse and damage you’ve inflicted over the past 24yrs. Will take several generations to heal from this scourge you’ve left on this land.
